Subject: Deputy Deputy back from Germany
In reply to: Deputy of the Deputy of the Deputy 's message, "Rd 10 results and ladder - VVS lose first game" on 19:19:22 07/06/06 Thu

RFL Deputy to the Deputy Commissioner has returned from a fully funded RFL fact finding mission from Germany, having attended all World Cup games including some involving the FootballRoos.

Said Deputy Deputy, "it was a fantastic experience. I was there, in the flesh supporting my team, bleeding for my country, crying for my country, the mighty green and golds. Ronaldo, Ronaldino, and all the guys wearing green and gold did us all proud, and I can say that for a fact, cause I was there right in the thick of it supporting the boys. You know you can't understand different cultures until you have been there. You can't get it from reading a book or watching a television documentary. For instance did you know that in some countries they spell Brazil with a "s". Amazing really. You don't get to know that unless you actually visit these faraway exotic places".

When asked what facts he actually found on his fact finding mission, Deputy Deputy said "red cards are red, and yellow cards are yellow". "Amazing really, who would have thought to devise a system which basically says you are about to be stopped, being the yellow, and then you are stopped, being red". "I don't think we would introduce such a system cause what would the MRP do of a Monday. No video's to watch". "If we did, we would take it out of the umpires hands and have a match review panel representative attending all games, and when there is an incident that deserves a yellow, the scoreboard would flash yellow, and the players number would be posted. Same for red, and then that way the player is off. Gets the control of it out of the hands of the stupid referees oops I mean umpires".

There is no doubt that this trip, excursion, junket, call it what you like has got some of the struggling clubs of the RFL up in arms. Said President Mutley of the cash strapped Wacky's, "with the money Deputy Deputy splashed around on beer and Kransky's we could have paid the salaries of our entire team for a year. It seems that the RFL commission has no understanding of what some of its member clubs are confronting in just trying to balance the books.
