Subject: SwanGunners looking to step up

After a dissappointing start to the 2003 RFL season, the SwanGunners are looking ahead to the rest of the season with a positive mindset.

Said coach Quick Rade, "we were decimated by injuries in the first round and a number of players had to be played out of position as we tried to re-jig the side to make up for the losses".

With the loss of Croad, O'Loughlin, Chick and Vandenberg, combined with the late withdrawal of big Spider Burton and the injury early in the game to Doyle, the Gunners were effectively fighting an uphill battle.

To get so close to Fake Madrid with no forward line, a reduced midfield, and no tackling or ruck division, indicates a lack of talent in the boys from Madrid. A mob of fakes you could say. It could be a long season for them.

As for the Gunners, make no mistake, they are primed to take it out this year, they have drafted well, and the players they have retained from the previous year are ready to step up to the next level, to ensure the RFL flag is waving from Telstra Arena (formerly Tina Arena)
