I got Pizza Hut pizza and took in soda. She actually ate! Then we gave her her gifts. She was more excited about the sweater than the candy, lol! The sweater was from WalMart, so I'm sure you've all seen it. It comes in tan, black, and sage. It has crocheted ruffles at the cuffs and all along the edges...so it looks like it has ruffles. It only has one button.
Then we had cake...I got a little 8" cake that had chocolate buttercream in the sides and edge and a fudge frosting on top.
An aside, Liam didn't want cake right then. He doesn't like cake, so that's nothing new. Well, one of the aides came in and asked for cake...then another...and another. They ended up taking the whole cake!!! What would you have done? Do you think I should have taken another cake for the people who work there??? I would never think to ask a parent who brought their child lunch to share it with me. It seemed a little out of line, but what could I do? I paid $7 for a cake that we only got to eat 1/4th of!? Now I'm pretty darned sure that it isn't my aunt eating all the candy and cakes I take her.
Anyway, then I called my uncle and aunt in Iowa and let her talk to them. Then I called one uncle and aunt who live in Arizona and she talked to them. By then she was tired and didn't want to talk to anyone else today.
I think she had a grand time.
I may start trying pizza with her more often. She turns up her nose at McDonalds and Cracker Barrel...which used to be her favorite. Papa Johns runs Sunday specials...$5.99 for a large with take-out. Maybe we'll start doing that. It doesn't cost any more than the shakes we always take!
Well, tomorrow it's back to work. I am so bad...Liam's birthday is Wednesday and all I've got for him is a book (the new Eoin Colfer one) and a pirate themed game I grabbed at the St. Louis Science Center. I gotta come up with something, don't I??? Maybe I'll get him a mini trampoline for downstairs. I think he'd enjoy that. Watcha think? For the last 3 years I did video games, video games, video games. We have a hundred or more games, about 5 of which they still play. I'm branching out!
Well, tomorrow is the long day. 8 to 8. I haven't even loaded the car. I need to take the kids' school supplies, too, because tomorrow is the drop-off day for supplies. UGH. Just something else to try to remember!
Okay, I've whined enough. I'm going to go put fresh sheets on their bed and get headed that way myself!
