I don't know if you remember, but about 3 years ago I subscribed to Disney Magazine. Bad move. I paid for two years, and they went out of business after I got maybe 3 issues (it came out quarterly).

Shortly after I paid for it I got a card saying that as a perk, I was going to get free magazines. Everyone I told - and showed the card- told me it was a rip-off.

Well, within a month I started getting Child and Parents...free. The subscriptions ran thru May of '07. Each month I'd read them, then pass them on to my neighbor Paige.

Well, the last ones I got were in March. I called today to see what gives. I thought maybe Paige...or someone she gave the magazines to...transfered the account to themselves. Curiously, Child had a hold placed on it in March and was set to be restarted in September. Parents was cancelled.

The gal at Parents went to investigate and found out that THEY had cancelled it because they are having "issues" with the company that did the promotion. Since I didn't pay for it, I won't be getting anymore. However, the Child subscription will start again in September and then run thru the end of next year.

Um, okay. How wierd is that????
