When I was home this time they told me that the freight trains quit running nearly 10 years ago! When they do run, they have to make special arrangements with the company that runs the tourist train.

To top that off, they don't blow the prison whistle anymore, either. It's a minimum security prison now, I guess...not Max like it used to be.

I guess if I moved back there now I'd have to buy an alarm clock, wouldn't I?

I bet Lauren will eventually get to the point where she doesn't hear the bells anymore. At least it sounds like she entertains herself when she gets up early!

Is the weather you're having normal for that area, or are the locals commenting, too???

Today it's supposed to be in the 80's here...woo-hoo! We had a week of 100º or higher temps...and the heat is supposed to be back come the weekend! We're going to enjoy the break by going to the drive-in tonight!

I need to go shop for school supplies. I guess I'm losing my mind. I thought I grabbed two bags of stuff...I can only find one! Some of the stuff they want...ugh. I'm not sending hand sanitizer...they have dispensers in every classroom! I think the district just makes up a crazy list and then figures the teachers will send home the real one when school starts.

This weekend is the tax-free weekend. However, unless you're buying a computer or something, it isn't worth it. The stores will be SWAMPED and the lines will be worse than at Christmas. It's worth a few bucks to me to have my shopping done before the crowds hit!
