「We shall overcome, we shall overcome......」
嘩，這陣子真的被這首歌沖昏了頭腦；電視台日播夜播，A台播B台播C台更是二十四小時播。可惱的是，唱就唱足幾星期了，但我哋到底Overcome咗未？點解仲係Shall㗎？點解唔係「We are overcoming」、「We have overcame」？
小學生都知道，英文中「We」同「I」之後係要用「Shall」，而不用「Will」。但小學生未必知道的是，在日常英語會話中，如果想加強語氣，表明「我有決心要做好一件事」，反而會用「I will do it」而非「I shall do it」。很明顯，「We shall overcome」聽起來，總覺「軟奶奶」的、很被動似的（當然也跟其歌曲旋律有關），反而「We will overcome」就真的會比較堅定、有決心。
想說的是，這首歌的創作原意雖好，但真的作得很求其，絕對算不上動聽；聽了幾星期，更令人聽到煩厭了！
我見有一幅麥嘜的網上E-card，正是一眾卡通人物戴着口罩頭昏腦脹，背景是「We shall黐孖筋」！大概E-card的作者也與小弟有同感吧！
我看，倒不如索性唱「We shall overdone, we shall overdone」吧！我哋一鑊熟、我哋一鑊熟！
