國王向全國公告：任誰找出醫治怪病的方法，立即將公主陸t給他！
舉國嘩然！國王向來對冰雪美麗的公主甚為溺愛，多位鄰國王子幾番求親，國王都一一推卻；這次他居然公開招婿，令全國在一片怪病的陰霾下，有了振奮人心的話題──國王為了治好萬民的怪病，不惜「獻牲」公主！
但民眾不知情的是，國王此舉並非因他愛民如子，純綷出於愛女心切──原來連公主也染上怪病了！發熱咳嗽、呼吸疼痛……如不趕快醫治，只怕命不久矣，就像連月來喪命的數百病人一樣。
鄰國王子們乘機大獻殷勤，親自送來神丹、仙果、秘方等。可是他們得悉公主染病的實情後，紛紛逃回本國，生怕被傳染！
一位仙人，化身為髒老頭，欲進宮向國王獻草藥，卻被拒諸宮外；髒老頭只好轉往貧民區派藥。其草藥果真有效，幾日後，久被怪病纏擾的貧民區終於回復了生氣！
消息傳到宮中，國王急忙派兵丁去貧民區尋找髒老頭，可是老頭已不知所終。兵丁無計可施，竟強搶貧民手中的草藥回宮。
但公主服藥後，病情竟加劇了！欲知後事如何，不必聽下回分解，因為後事，就是公主的後事。
