有一種日本出品的軟糖，近年在港相當流行，在各超市及便利店皆有售。它軟得來卻十分有口感，放入口咀嚼時，活像香口膠似的；第一次嚐的人，總會問：「這是糖還是香口膠？可否吞落肚的？」
此糖分別有多種味道，如提子味、青蘋果味、可樂味等等，各自獨立出售，並以不同顏色、不同圖案的包裝紙區別；每次我在便利店，總是在五顏六色的糖果架前七上八落：到底選哪一種味道好？
嘿！就是擊中我這種心理，該裝造商於是推出了──「神秘味」！包裝紙上只說「神秘味」而無任何提示，從外表絕不會知道此包裝底下的軟糖是甚麼味。拿不定主意的人，正好不必用腦，隨便買「神秘味」來聽天由命；結果可能是提子味或可樂味或其他，亦有可能是廠方還未正式推出的全新「試作味」，要到放入口中的一刻，才有分曉……
這卻不是甚麼新諗頭。君不見那些台式珍珠奶茶店的飲料單上，也有一款「隨便」嗎？同樣的意念罷。
神秘味軟糖，說明了兩個與市場有關的現象：一，選擇太多，也會產生問題；二，玩神秘，永遠有吸引力。
