難得有時間上深圳半天，特別去逛一逛影碟店。當地很明顯有兩種影碟店：翻版店與正版店。
兩者不難分辨。翻版店通常門面小且雜亂，碟子放得無甚系統，只一兩人看鋪。另一大特色是，你會在此發現最新而仍未在港上畫的荷里活電影。
例如，我在七月七日已見有售《未來戰士3殲滅者TX》VCD！此片七月二日在美開畫，七月十日始在港公映，想先睹為快，只需十元八塊；但質素全無保證，很可能到回家播放時，你才發覺那其實是第二集，封面故意印成第三集以引你上釣！
至於正版店，大規模大門面，整齊清潔，售貨員全套制服，儼如香港的HMV。基本上，它售賣的都是正版貨──說「基本上」，因為店內仍有不少「懷疑翻版碟」存在。
例如，一套十來張碟的日劇VCD，包裝上印明武漢某公司正版出品，標價八十八元，到付款時自動打了七折，約六十元。正式拿日本版權的VCD，真的可以賣咁平乎？堂堂日本富士電視台，又為何會授權給武漢的小公司，而非北京上海的大廠？回家一看其畫面質素，這些問題都不必再問了。
正版店翻版店，都一樣在賣老翻。此乃全國國情，絕不只深圳而已。
