今晚，是火星近六萬年來最接近地球的大日子！
按道理，這陣子紅色行星在夜空中特別明亮，大家用肉眼也可輕易將之認出；如果有雙筒望遠鏡，更可以用它觀察到火星上的地形。只可惜，香港前幾天打風落雨，掃了不少天文愛好者的興；好幾次我特地在夜深落街擔天望星，都只能看到煙雲濛濛，哪裏有火星？
實情是，就算撇除天氣因素，在香港想觀星，其難度比諸在沙漠找水喝也相差無幾；在香港要當一個「追星族」，更是十分懊惱和泄氣的一回事。
基本上，住在都市中的我們，平日抬頭可見的星星，來來去去那三幾顆；皆因都市內徹夜不滅的燈火，令大部分星星都「隱了形」。想看多些，除非跑去人迹罕至的郊野吧。以往，大嶼山的幾個沙灘是不錯的選擇，我也曾在多年前於貝澳，目擊過滿天繁星的景象；但據知，自從新機場出現後，也難有這支歌仔唱了！
試問，有幾多個土生土長的香港小孩，能有機會親眼看到天上的銀河？唉，若能看到獵戶座，已很了不起；要看銀河，全香港只得一個地方：太空館天象廳！
話說回來，這次「火星大衝」，看來港人是無緣得見了；下一次是二二八七年八月二十八日。但願人長久。
