話說，「鹹蛋超人」這個名字不單止在香港深入民心，後來連內地及台灣，都以「鹹蛋超人」來稱呼「Ultraman」了。
點解會咁？愚見認為，可能由於幾位香港藝人，如劉德華、周星馳、鄭伊健等，都曾公開說自己是「鹹蛋超人迷」，星爺更屢次在電影中大玩「鹹蛋超人」橋段，故這稱呼也就流傳到兩岸了。
可是，近年有一班台灣的「Ultraman」愛好者，認為「鹹蛋超人」是一個可笑的陋稱，對「Ultraman」來說是個奇恥大辱！於是，他們在網上發起，要恢復「Ultraman」的台灣本土正宗譯名：「超人力霸王」！
他們不斷發信去代理「Ultraman」產品的公司，要求為「Ultraman」正名；結果，終在今年初取得成央A出版「Ultraman」影碟的公司，已正式棄「鹹蛋」而用「力霸王」了。
個人認為，「Ultraman」譯做「超人力霸王」，其實一樣無厘頭；「超人」兩個字，乜都明啦，仲使乜「力霸王」？老套到震！
但，最無厘頭還是國內。最新內地出版的「Ultraman」影碟，名字全部用音譯，「Ultraman」成了「奧特曼」！「Ultraseven」（超人七號）變成「奧特曼賽文」！
在同樣用中文的地方，超人居然有三種名字，真可悲。
