惡病肆虐，卻教我想起了「打針」──讀小學時經常要打的那些預防針。
記憶中，都幾恐怖！上上吓堂，班主任突然宣布，請排隊去衞生室接受乜乜疫苗注射；雖然同學們都老大不願意，但一定要去，冇得揀！
──換轉今日，你返返吓工，老闆突然叫所有同事去人事部啪支針，你會去咩？
打針的名堂多得很，記得有：白喉、傷寒、破傷風、卡介苗、牛痘等。這些名詞在「健康教育」課本中屢有提及，但不知怎地，現在硬是摸不着頭腦：到底白喉係乜東東？個喉嚨無端端變咗白色？會死人㗎？
卡介苗，個名印象深刻，但亦是一個謎：究竟卡介苗是預防甚麼病的？想了半天也想不起來。牛痘？我知喎，防天花吖嘛，《X檔案》仲話種牛痘係美國政府同外星人合作的陰謀，用以記錄全人類的DNA入「快勞」，所以人人一出世冇耐就要種一粒（小腿），到小學時又要種一粒（手臂）……
這些預防注射是有效的，白喉、天花等病例都已絕迹多年。向未來想，他日小學生要打的針會否愈來愈多？例如預防SARS疫苗──不如就叫做「淘大苗」啦！
