預計今個聖誕其中一樣熱賣 AV Item，會是 DVD 錄影機。
這玩意兒在市場上已出現了一陣子，但是以往因價格高企，未能普及。唯對於某一小撮人來講，DVD 錄影機卻是「恩物」，一出即買。這班就是搞盜版碟的集團，他們在日本派駐專人，把最新播出的劇集、動畫，以 DVD 錄影機錄下，寄到香港或台灣後將之大量翻製，成為最新日劇 DVD；由於出碟時間夠快，有時只比日本播出時間遲一兩周，而且畫面質素十分清晰，所以大受日劇 Fans 歡迎。這可謂 DVD 錄影機出現至今的最大「貢獻」。
現在， DVD 錄影機價格下滑，除了這些「專業」用家之外，亦會開始被一般家庭所接納。不過，到底會否普及到人人家有一機，就像當年的 VHS 錄影機一樣？有保留。
別說 DVD 錄影機了，其實就連 VHS 錄影機，也漸漸在大家家中消失，老的那部壞了之後，都未必會買新的。何解？皆因要錄節目的需求大減。電影 / 劇集出碟愈來愈快、影碟愈來愈便宜，加上愈來愈多收費電視台，選擇已多到大家都睇唔切了，仲錄乜鬼吖？
急於買 DVD 錄影機，一定是自己想做翻版，把借來的 DVD 翻為己有，嘿嘿！
