與幾位副刊專欄作家傾開偈，大家都表示，海外讀者對專欄的回應比諸本地讀者，要熱烈得多。換句話說，我們所收到的來信、電郵中，海外讀者佔了大多數。
這其實不難理解。因為所謂海外讀者，很大部分是移民海外或負笈外國的香港人；他們之所以仍熱衷於嬝狎輕銙瓥飽]即使是海外版），正是因為他們對香港人香港事仍十分關心眷戀。而副刊專欄，就在硬性新聞之外提供了不少香港的軟資訊、暖情懷，令他們讀得津津有味，可謂「汁都撈埋」。
今時今日，這班海外讀者真的非常幸福。以《星島日報》為例，在美國東西岸、加拿大、英國、澳洲等地，均各自有即日同步的《星島日報》海外版。想當年，小弟負笈美國某內陸城市，完全接觸不到中文報章，惟有向紐約那邊訂冀Y報的美洲版；可郵寄到我手，已是一星期之前的報紙了。後來，該報美洲版銷量欠佳停刊，更改為把香港版寄來給我，變本加厲，要十多日後才寄到！
如今，雖然上網也可以看到香港報章內容，但不少海外讀者仍是選擇買海外版報紙；一紙在手，才可以全日慢慢消磨嘛！他們生活一般比港人悠閒，所以喜讀後回應，正常不過。
