以前，主婦們絕不想買到打針雞；現在，大家唯恐買回來的雞沒有打針（禽流感預防針）。
以前，覺得在「老麥」吃一個套屨靮K宜，抵過食飯盒；現在，覺得「老麥」的套懋U來愈貴，絕對貴過茶曙U。
以前，是內地人希望香港親友多些上去，帶多些外滙券給他們；現在，是香港人希望內地人多些下來，帶多些人民幣給我們。以前，外國人嫌香港遊客沒有修養，在公眾場所大吵大鬧旁若無人；現在，是香港人嫌內地遊客沒有修養，搭巴士時爭先恐後打尖不排隊。
以前，只有久病無依的老人家才會厭世自殺；後來，欠幾萬元卡數的青年人都不想活鬧自殺了；現在，小朋友打輸了遊戲機也想死，自二十樓跳將下來。
以前，大學畢業生唔憂米，一畢業出來就必定有工做，至少有政府工、教書這兩條後路；現在，大學畢業生分分鐘要乞米，畢業成年都依然待業，想做政府工、教書？好難了。
以前如何如何，現在怎樣怎樣。每次聽到有人如此「想當年、比現在」，我就頭大。根本世界每天都在變㗎啦，邊有「五十年不變」的事？直覺認為，今年會變的事會更多更繁，大家宜做好心理準備。
