Another one of DH's projects that slowly evolves and gets out of hand.

I've been making a point of hanging the flag out every day lately, but with our lovely spring winds in the desert, it tends to wrap itself up and make quite a mess of itself.

DH decided he could make the premier flag pole, so off to Lowe's we went for supplies. After buying the initial pipe/pole and fittings ($10), he put it together and realized the other things he hadn't taken into consideration. Being that it's outside all day, and we do have pride in our flag, he had to buy the much more expensive (rustproof) fittings too. Back to Lowe's we went to get more goodies for $12. It doesn't work quite as well as he had hoped, but in all actuality, it looks pretty good. He designed it so the flag would right itself more easily and it doesn't tangle itself up quite so much as it use to. While it looks good and works pretty well, he tends to be a perfectionist so there is probably more retrofitting on the way...

Getting to be an expensive project :^)
