In reply to: AF 's message, "It's still raining!!!" on 19:10:06 01/18/06 Wed

On MLK day we had no measurable rain at the official site. It rained at my house (20 miles away from the official site). So, that means the rain record wasn't broken. It stopped at 29 days or such. So on Tuesday, it started right back up again and continues to do such.

I work for the DOT and I started my day looking at a sinkhole (the flooding from the rain caused) near one of our roads out in the rural part of the county. At a quarter to eight this morning, I'm standing in cow poop and mud trying to find a pipe outlet in a field of bulls so I can take a picture to show my boss what's going on. He's not so testy now. But, the rain is welcome to stop anytime now. The good part of this moisture is the snow in the mountains. The ski areas are having a record year.

The Seahawks...what can I say. AF, I am actually a football fan. I played tackle football with neighborhood kids growing up and I almost went out for the team in high school. We (my best friend and I) even talked to the coach about joining. We didn't but I have alway been a fan of football. What I'm not is a Quest Field fan. I voted against the stadiums twice and they still built the damn things (touchy subject). Our Seahawks are magnificent. They play as a team, not as individual superstars. I have high hopes that they can go to the Superbowl. Sadly, however, Seattle teams have a tendency to choke when it counts. Except the Seattle Storm. It would be so cool to have another championship team in town. So far, we only have basketball crowns.

As to the Ark, I let you know when the turtles are needed. You could send that snow or even the sun our way. We wouldn't mind that either.

I see a bright spot in our future. The sun is supposed to come out this Sunday. Just in time for the game.
