I bought two little plants from the herb woman at Wells market and, due to lack of space, planted them in big containers. The best place for them just happened to be on a hot path next to the herb border where there are lots of bees which must help pollination.

To begin with, the green zucchini sat and sulked and would only produce magnificent leaves, but the yellow one made boy babies for two weeks before suddenly launching into prolific flowering and fruiting and the green plant has now caught up! It's like a vegetable sex toy shop out there.

Complete beginners luck!
