Subject: Another weather first in my memory


This afternoon a hazy sky and the odor of burning wood drifted into Chicago. Apparently, it's the smoke from forest fires in Minnesota over 400 miles away.

Mom turtle sat outside and didn't notice except for the "hickory" barbecue smell. Whereas my throat started to burn and I went inside. *sigh* I'm so sensitive. I heard about the smoke on the radio after the fact.

I did wonder why my neighbor had her windows closed and the AC on when it was a pleasant, breezy 74.
