 Mare's auids twitch as she hears the wolves pad close to her. As Hidalgo comes near, she relaxes slightly. She was in too much pain to get up although she tried several times but to no avail. The foal slid out a bit more, front legs completely outside and the head was about ready also. She whickered loudly, knowing her first foal would not be safe with such danger around.

(Should she have a filly or colt?)
