DON'T stay down town -- people have been raped, robbed, mugged, etc. at downtown hotels - especially the Stouffer

I'd recommend South or West County. Florissant would probably still be ok if you are going to stay in North County, but that's about it.

The Metro Link is a lot of fun and a great way to get around town without having to hassle with traffic and parking problems. If you're going downtown it's a wonderful way to go. Highly recommended!

St. Louis Style Pizza -- there are some decent mom and pop places, but to really guarantee you experience the real McCoy I recommend you get yours from "Imo's". St. Louis style pizza features thin crust with provolone cheese. The sausage topping is particularly tasty.

Warning, Imo's is delicious but may cause some VERY nasty gas. Eat it for lunch and you might still get lucky with your lady friend even if you both experience some flattulence. You might even entertain yourselves by seeing who can clear the biggest hole around you on the Metro Link.

"Fred Drewes" in South County -- famous for their "concretes" and frozen custard. The "concrete" isn't all that IMHO, but it's a St. Louis institution -- really thick heavy stuff.

Further note re: the Old Courthouse -- the place where the Dred Scott slave cases started.
