my mom had her surgery earlier this month and I went down to NC to visit here over the weekened. She was in great spirits and seemed to be doing as well physically as you could hope for. There was a little bad news though. The partial pathology report indicated that some cancer cells had traveled to the lymph nodes (making her a fourth out of four stages?). The cells were dead and there was no word on the "margins" - but the doc said they were there.

Today, she went for the full report and lo and behold, absolutely nothing in the lymph nodes. Nada, zip, zilch, nothing. The doctor said that there were some cells closer to the margin than he would like but that (and this I'm not sure of) they'd get it with radiation.

Anyway, some great news, I believe. Cool beans.
