You're probably unfamiliar with the US custom of Senior Night. The senior athletes are honored at the last home game of their particular sport. They are accompanied by their parents onto the playing surface of their respective sports, generally with introductions all around and the coaches say all kinds of cool things about the player. Pictures are taken, tears are shed, it's a whole big stinking deal.

This is a shot from Ryan's night, just recently.

Applause for the awesome four year letterman #8 was the loudest of all. A fact, my personal bias aside.
