i don't think i ever got the chance to tell you that i had an opportunity to go white water rafting over the summer for the first time. you may remember our discussion about my kayak some time ago. anyhow, the lady friend and i went to north carolina and tennesse for a week over the summer, and while we were in the asheville area, we took a guided trip on the nantahala river. it was nothing incredibly mean or overpowering, but it was a neat first experience on the white water. with my experience on the water, i think we could have easily rented our own raft and i could have led it. i'm looking into taking a cycle trip next summer to hit up the rapids in west virginia for a real trip.
