Subject: if you guys get the chance try out Rescue Me on FX ...

... season one wrapped up last night and they should be reprising the entire thing from the beginning at various times in the near future. same with Nip/Tuck, which is currently 'encoring' at 10pm to 11:30pm sundays on your local FX outlet. i'll try to keep you posted on when it starts up again, as wednesdays at 10pm est were the regular timeslot, with replays after Nip/Tuck on the next tuesdays at 11pm.

Rescue Me is Denis Leary pretty much playing the same coyote asshole he's played on network TV before (which i liked in theory, but always lost interest before because they couldn't go far enough), only this time he's a NYC firefighter and the raunchy yet understated dialogue and storylines should definitely appeal to anyone who is a denizen of this here saloon in a big way. Leary says shit like, "OK, wait a minute and just let me pull down my pants and pick some cash off the money tree growing out of my ass" to his ex-wife. He walks around talking to numerous "dead people", which he also takes quite in stride. He has this ongoing rivalry with his cousin, who is also his priest and he's got alcoholic conflicts and an ex-wife and kids who live right across the street in his other house that he bought for them and special problems with "widow-banging" his dead best friend/cousin firefighter's wife (what's her name from Homicide, who's even more of a hottie now than then). He's actually happy that his daughter is dating a lesbian, because it means he doesn't have to worry about her getting messed up with guys. the meaningless conversations between his dad and him where they include subtitles to indicate what it is they're really saying to each other are hysterical. this series is first rate and the FX dramatic series continue to be some of the best stuff on TV right now.
