Being a perfectionist hurts my artistic flow when I try to create something new. Being unwilling to settle for anything less than great when I attempt to write and obsessing over small things on "principle".\

I wonder if seeing some successful, but flawed work would free up your creative juices a little bit? Take the average top grossing best seller, song or top grossing movie today for example. Those standards are worthy enough and certainly a lot easier to hit.
