We need to work on her attitude regarding New York City. I understand the fear but she's letting the breathlessness of the news coverage affect her too much. Heck, she's probably at greater risk of death or deformity during the car ride to the city or crossing the street in Times Square! - not the best PR spin job I've done in my life.

I could get into the statistics and all of that but basically the best argument I can make is this -- I have a wonderful wife and two kids that I absolutely adore and wish to protect -- I lived through 9/11 -- and I have absolutely no qualms whatsoever about us living in the city or about bringing them into the heart of Midtown and lower Manhattan. It would be a crime, in my mind, to force them to miss out on some of the wonders and the fun of this here town on the very, very off chance that one day we might end up in the wrong place at the wrong time. If we lived like that, we'd never board an airplane or drive in a car or use the toaster in the bathtub.

It would be a shame if she allowed all this stuff to prevent her from having a great weekend in the city with her little sharkie. Trust me. She's safe. Of course, maybe she hates NYers and this is just a ruse to avoid it!
