Where is the HONOR
The military’s dirty little secret
When I went to the department of veterans affairs hospital. There they in formed me after looking over my discharged papers DD214 they in formed me that I need 2 year of active duties service, to get medical help. That congress had passed the WE HATE RESERVES LAW AFTER the desert storm part 1.
If you do not serve for 2 years in the service and you are hurt. You cannot get any medical care from the Department of Veterans Affairs, with out going thought a long year or two waiting time. Unlike before when you could go and get medical help. Now you have to wait. I and others like me call it the “we hate the reserves” law.
It is funny how the military will call the reserve, to go over sea’s to fight and defend what's left of our constitution and freedoms, but let us get hurt with out 2 or more years in service, you will find your self out in the cold.

My name is James Carrick of the naval reserves NMCB23, Detachment 0123, out of Little Creek Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia. This is my story:
I was called up for Kosovo with a presidential recall orders in the winter of 2000. While I was over there a 22’x65’ wall fell on me while I was trying to hold it up to keep it from falling on a fellow Seabee. After they pulled me out from under it, they sat me down and told me to hold every one weapons. While they treaded the active duty person. Then they drove the active duty personal to the field medic and told me I had to walk. The corman who is not a doctor and has never been to medical school, that I know of over rules an officer of the Army who was a real doctor. The corman said I was not hurt and I was just being lazy. In addition, I need to keep up on the 3 mile run. When I returned to Rhoda Spain. I found they did not even have a room for me to sleep in. instead of letting me sleep out side, two Petty Officer found me a place to sleep. When I was sent to the states, they med boarded me. I told them up front I don’t want any money, just fix me, and let me serve. (this is what I all wrote the department of veterans affairs also JUST FIX ME) While being treaded in Portsmouth naval hospital, they gave me a mix of experimental medication. This almost cost me my life and left me blacking out, seeing things, and with chess pains. The doctor who treated me said, “you’re a reservist and when you get out if you still are having problems with this, go seek help on your own.”
While I was stationed at Oceana Master jet base with C.B.U. 415, the navy decided to play games with my pay. They pay me one month and then not pay me for 2 months. This went on for the rest of my stay on ACTIVE DUTY.
My med board came back “fit for active duty.” Therefore, I said, “let me go on full active duty not just in the reserve. Then they said I was not fit for full active duty and I need to go back in the reserves, where they said they had orders waiting for me to go back on active duty.
Funny how I cannot be fit for active duty, but only throw the reserve to go on active duty.
Therefore, in august of 2001 they release me from active duty. Just 20 day short so I could go to the veterans hospital and seek treatments for my

5. CHESS PAINS
6. BLACKING OUT
7. DIZZNESS
8. SEEING STRANGE THINGS

Which over time the last three has gotten much better. Still I feel if you and not only me but also others who been hurt in the military said it seem that the united state government hate all reservist. I have found that I am not alone in this. Over the pass 3 years, I have found more than 700 others who the military has done this to.
For this reason I have written to every news place throw out the world. From the Middle East to west, from north to south. In the states, I have written almost every congressperson in hopes to get this law changed. It my be too late for me, I am thinking of all those who are coming back from the Middle East and from all over the earth. I HAVE ASKED AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO ANSWER THE QUETION:
HOW CAN I BE FIX FOR ACTIVE DUTY ONLY THROW THE RESERVCE, BUT NOT FIT FOR ACTIVE DUTY AS A FULL TIME SAILER. NOT EVEN SENATORS CAN SEEM TO GET A ANSWER TO THIS.
who is running our military??? the world would like to know.

In addition, all the others that helped me to get this notice. I thank the senators for making head way in this matter. But like I wrote some of them and the VA. What about the solider of old? The solider that is left behind. Evan to this day i found out the the US military is still doing the same. Like I wrote to the school teacher, "it is a sham that every day I must wake to remember that my nation forgets those who servered with honor and where ready to give there life to save others. Who in the time of need, the navy just turns its back and says your just a reservice we have no need of you." I have found more and more of this among those who server evan to this day.
The United States often speaks of Truth, Justice, and Honor, but when they are asked to show it, what do they do? IS THERE ANY HONER LEFT IN THE US MILITARY?
Dear Honorable senator:
I am very up set to find out what happen to me has happen to other solders coming home from iraq. At first I was not going to tell my story at all. But after talking it over with friends we decide it would be best if I did. this would add a human face to the story. I am not looking for a hand out or any thing like that as i wrote and told the Va. if i could just get medical I would have been quite happy. For you see you not only loss just one solder you loss every one that knows that solder.
In my case my 2 sons, my nieces and cousin who look to me and said “if they will not take care of you. What will they do to us?” And any neighbors kids who look up to a solder coming home, only to find that what he trusted in has turn there back on him. so you see if the military keep this up, who will be left to fight the next vietnam. draft? do the math 1 solder + average 2kids + 7 nieces cousins + 10 friends, churches, =20 average losses. If the military does that to just 300 solders a year thats= 6000 solders that may never serve. out of that 6000 what if one could of turned out to be a Patton or some great leader, or even saves ones of you childeren or grandchildren life.
Let me ask you this one question:
what would you do if your child came home and told you my story?

I would like to thank the teacher after she had viewed copy's of my medical record, said she would inform her students of the truth of how the militery treats its men and women after they get hurt, and she will make shure that this letter gets pasted on to other teachers and schools. THANK YOU
