Subject: A long update from MIA me.

We had our 341 meeting (meeting of creditors) this past Tues and found out that lawyers don't like people that try and do things without lawyers. To make a long story short, Jon had used the federal exemption #s on our schedules and we were supposed to use the state. The trustee was very angry and threw down his book and told us to call the auction house so they could liquidate all of our possessions. I barely made it out of the room without falling apart. I had taken the morning off from work and my mom was subbing for me and I had to go back to face my class. Jon tried to reassure me that by law they couldn't do that, but he was shaken as well. After a horrible afternoon, evening and worse night, Jon called the auction house and they said "what are we suppose to look at? nobody has called us!" They said they would call the trustee, but we've heard nothing since. We do have to do our schedules again with the new #s and after looking at the laws, we think the guy was just trying to scare us, which he did! Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect bankruptcy to be easy, and I hate even having to admit that we had to do it, but I thought we were at least prepared for what might happen.

That night I saw my sweetheart more down and depressed than even after Little Jon. I think with men, like Justina once told me, this is such a major thing and Jon felt horrible for having done the paperwork wrong. All he was doing was trying to save us $500 in lawyer fees! It was so hard as I'm always the bawl baby and Jon is my strong man, and I didn't know how to help him. It was truly the 3rd worst day of my life.

However, that part is behind us and we feel much better now. They did take our tax refund which means no new washer yet, but hopefully ours won't die quite yet. We also decided to surrender the Durango because of the terrible lease and although I hate to see it go, I do enjoy the Towne and Country minivan we were able to bring home last night. If I HAD to go back to a minivan, this is a nice one to have. I about had a heart attack from the interest rate though! It's a good way to build our credit back up and I'm thankful that there are understanding banks out there.

My SIL loaned us the money for a short trip to CA. Some people might think it is crazy or foolhardy to take a vacation right now, but I don't think I've ever needed one more! I am so looking forward to being with my family without the stress off everyday living. We leave next Sunday and I'm counting the days. It's nice too that the minivan will get double the gas mileage than the SUV so that will help gas costs!

I go off track in 2 days and although ecstatic, I have so much to do it is not even funny. We share rooms so I have to pack up everything while still trying to teach. I also am trying to get my report cards done before we go off track as they will go out shortly after we get back and I don't want to have to worry about them. This is an extra long break. 3 1/2 weeks and I'm so ready to just be a mom again for awhile. I don't know how I would ever teach on a traditional schedule again! I'm so burned out after only 8 weeks! I am enjoying it though and the routine is getting easier. The kids are doing well in daycare and Jon is a fabulous stay at home dad. He gets soooo much more done at home than I ever did. I do have to find a new Friday sitter as my lady up and quit last week! Thank heavens I have the whole month of march to do it.

I am worried about my job next year as they will probably have to surplus teachers due to boundary changes and I'm second to lowest on the totem pole. Also, my teaching license expires in June and I'm hoping they'll still let me work while I get the points to renew it.

Calista is on the verge of potty training and will do very well over the weekend, but then nothing at all once she goes to daycare. I know she can do it now and she is able to tell us when she needs to go, so hopefully when I'm off track we can get it done for good. I've never had a kid be so old. She'll be 4 in just over 2 weeks! Some mom I am huh?

I've got more but the kids are screaming of course, LOL
L.

The auction lady did come out and take pics, but Jon doesn't seem too concerned. I was at school thank goodness. He also tries to keep me focused on that this is all just "things" and we're not losing anything important, but I'm not too good at remembering that. LOL

I will be so glad when it is all over!!!!
I did make it through my last 2 days of school and although I have to do report cards over the break, I feel so much better knowing I have almost 4 weeks off!

Thanks again for your support,
Love, L
