Subject: Here's a very long update from a very exhausted me

I know I promised to be her more while off track, but that went so fast and I've already been back in school a week. A very long first week back I might add.

We did have a very nice time in California, although tensions were so high the first day on the road because we just couldn't let go of the stress, we all felt like just coming back. We stayed at a Homewood Suites by Hilton where there is a kitchen in the room and they also provided a breakfast and dinner buffet Mon-Thurs. We then bought sandwich stuff and carted it to Disneyland and that really helped save some $. The Hotel had a shuttle too so we didn't have to pay for parking. And if you want a good Disney vacation deal, look at www.getawaytoday.com They are out of Ut and our school district got a portion of our package cost. Our pkg included our room and all taxes, plus 2 adult park hopper tickets. We had five days paid for for the park, but took a day off in the middle and went to the beach. Once again Aneheim had record heat and it was 95F the day we got there, Mar 8! I had been expecting high 60s low 70s and we actually had to go buy Calista shorts because I didn't pack any for her. Oh and never forget your trusty Walmart map. With the atlas is a list of all the Walmarts in the US and we were able to find one 10 minutes away. I've soooo turned into my mother LOL.

We spent a night in Las Vegas coming home as it's about 1/2 way between LA and SLC and were shocked at how horrible the Circus Circus hotel has become. What a dive! We were stuck out in their motor lodge which I swear was a drug haven. Then we go to the buffet and it is $10 for everyone 5 and up! There was no way I was paying that for my 7 and 5 year old kids! We did get to see a trapeze act and a juggling one and the kids did enjoy it. I however was in my usual, I hate to go back home funk and that took some of the fun out of it.

Calista turned 4 on the 15th which was the day we drove home. I can't believe how fast the years have flown! And this may sound crazy, but as happy as I was for her, I also see that day as the day my fertility died. I still regret that TL and always will I'm afraid. Most days I'm too busy to worry about it, but it hit hard this year that my baby days are over. That being said, I am enjoying not having anyone in diapers for the first time in 7 years!

I had a bunch of things planned for the last 2 weeks I had at home, but got a nasty cold right after we got back and got nothing accomplished. It is a well known phenonemon that year round teachers always get sick during off track times. At least it hit after vacation!

My principal called the night we got home and told me I am being moved to 4th grade next year. I am excited as that is where I started in that school 10 years ago, and my best friend at school teaches 4th too, but am nervous as I haven't taught it since then and haven't a lot of resources.

Our school is having a boundry change next year and we are losing about 100 kids. Which is good because there is no room in the school and we have 9 portable classrooms. However, that means 5 teachers have to go as well. Technically I was 2nd from the bottom as far as seniority, but the principal chose me to stay because I had had experience in 4th and I had expressed a desire to teach it. I also have more experience in other areas than the girl that has only 3 months more at the school than me. She is a first year teacher and wants to stay in the lower grades. However, she is also on my teaching team this year and was not happy that she was getting surplussed (guaranteed a job in the district, but not at that school) and I wasn't. I of course was off track while this was being decided and felt terrible when I found out what was going on. I worried that it would ruin my friendship with this other teacher, but we have talked it out (although I came home in tears last Friday because the tension was so high). Jon says it's not my decision to make and the principal has the right to choose who she thinks best and I'm very happy I'm staying, but I still feel like I'm walking on eggshells. I also have some problems getting my licence renewed and will have to start taking classes at night on top of everything else I'm doing. I also have a student that before I took over the class, urinated in his tote tray, pooped in his pants and spread it on the classroom walls and made humping motions on other students. (they did not tell me this in my interview LOL) There was nothing like this behavior after I started, but this past Monday, our first day back, he pulled out his penis and showed it to several other boys in class. I did not see it but when I confronted him he admitted it. What is up with this kid???? He got only a hours worth of sentencing writing at the principals office and mom says he won't tell her why he did it. He's a trouble maker in all areas and is a slow student as well. Then today he stole about 100 YugiOh cards right out of another boy's backpack and then denied having them, until we found them in his pockets. I don't look forward to his conference next week!

Jon has been on night shifts this week and I'm soooo tired of not seeing him but minutes a day and feeling like a single mom. He normally would be home tonight, but took an overtime shift. I only get 4 days a month with him without either of us working and although I know we need the money, I miss him so much. I've been off of anti deprs meds since July, but am starting to wonder if I need them again. All the stress of work and family is starting to add up and I feel myself heading for a crash soon.

We did buy a new front loader washing machine and I'm starting to love it. However, check out the saga we went through to get it on the Household tips board. Moral of the story, never buy from Best Buy again.

The bankruptcy is almost officially over. We our not going to lose any of our stuff, but did have to purchase a few items to keep them from going to auction. We had to take out a loan to do this-thank heavens for DH's stock loans. The discharge date is the end of this month and then it should all be over. I have learned a lot through all of this and if anyone heaven forbid, needs advice, just lest me know.

Well, I've rambled on far too long and probably broke some kind of record for the longest post. I'm so sorry so many people here are struggling in so many ways and apologize for not posting some support. You are in my thoughts and prayers.I won't be around next week either as it's parent teacher conference and I have to stay until 7 on Tues and Wed. nights We do get a comp day on Friday and Jon happens to have the weekend off as well so I just hope I can survive another very long week. The good news is that I have only 7 more weeks till I'm off track again, and then after my 3 week break, I come back for 3 and the school year will be over!!!

Jon and I have also been released from our callings and we agreed with the bishop that we just need a break and some time to spend with our families. It broke my heart as I loved being Primary Secretary and I loved the women I worked with, but I do look forward to going to RS and Sunday school again.

If you made it this star please give yourself a star on your forehead and a few minutes of extra recess. I'm off to a

Love,
