Subject: HI everyone

Hi, it had been a while since I posted on the PP board and went looking and saw that everyone had left it like so many other boards. So I went on a quest and found this one and see some familiar names.

Things are going fairly well around our household. Everyone had a great Christmas. Renee LOVED opening presents this year! She has made some great stides in her development over the past 5 months or so. She is now walking!!!!! She is also talking and communicating much more. She looks so much more grown up lately too.

We are still struggling with her health though. In November she was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency and started on daily growth hormone shots which she takes extraordinarly well. The only time she cries is when I take the pen device away so she can't pretend to give herself a shot. Her big thing lately has been telling us about her hurts and wanting kisses on them. Last night after giving her her shot I asked if she had a hurt and she just looked at me like I was nuts, so it must really not hurt much. A couple of weeks ago she had an endoscopy and colonoscopy which showed lots of irriation and inflammation in both her stomach and colon which seems would explain why she is having a horrible time tolerating food. We are started some steroid enemas which we will do for a week to try to help that. Once again, she is a trooper with them. I am so hoping that they will help because she is looking so very thin to me right now. Her home health nurse is coming by this afternoon to weigh her and will then try to set up another meeting with all her docs to figure out where we go from here.

Ryan is doing great. He turned 5 in September, he missed the cutoff for kinder by 3 days so this year he is in pre-k and loving it. He is starting to read, which is so exciting to see. Today is his first day back to school after the Christmas break and he is very excited about it.

Well, Renee is starting to wake and cry so I better get going. I see that some have posted pictures so I will try to figure that out and will post some pictures of the kids when I get a chance.

So happy to have found you!

Georgianna, Sarah (b/s 2/17/97), Ryan (5) and Renee (4 in March)

And I hope you don't mind, but this forum is for LDS moms who've had a loss. So, if you are fine with our religious spin on some things some of the time, you are more than welcome to remain! I know that I would love to have you here!

Renee is just such a sweetheart - she never fails to touch my heart whenever I hear about her or see her pictures. I cannot believe that she is walking and doing so many things...she is turning into a real little girl! You must be so proud!

Anyhow, please feel free to remain with us - we are few in number, but we have a lot of love to share and to give.

Jo

I have to say that I didn't even notice the LDS mention on the top of the board, I just looked for names that I recognized. I am Catholic, which in many ways is quite similar to LDS, I think at least. I would love to still hang out if that is ok.

We just like to make sure people know it is LDS based and will have the basis of our religion in a lot of the posts here.

You are more than welcome to stay sweetie - and it is nice to see you in this forum as well as on the Ds board!

[> Hi Georgianna! It's so good to see you, and of course Joanne is right and you are welcome here -- lynece, 19:44:57 01/05/04 Mon

Our group is small, but full of support. This board doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some, but we like it. And although I'm not too familiar with the Catholic faith, I believe we have some similar doctrine especially concerning our love of families.

Just FYI, the rest of the old PP group moved to
http://www.theparentperspective.com/boards/forum-view.asp?forumid=113

Toye and Candy are moderators there and most of the old crew is there. It is a good board, but we often felt like we couldn't share our religious beliefs and how they related to our losses. So I created this one and here we are! :-)

Glad to hear about Renee, Calista and she are only days apart. Upload your pics to www.photobucket.com and copy the image URL and paste it here to show pics.

Love,Lynece
