Subject: Can you believe I forgot to make the stuffing today?

Dinner was ready about an hour after we'd planned but since we only had one extra person we weren't too stressed. The turkey was the culprit although I think our oven is at a lower temp than it should be.

We sit down and SiL's kids showed up early and there was plenty for them, and some even ate even though it was dinner #2 for them! As we began to eat DH said " I think we're missing something to put gravy on--- the stuffing" I was so embarrassed. So I got out my trusty Stovetop and in 6 minutes in the microwave my stuffing was done! I also realized I never got my olives out as I was reading my post from last night, but oh well, I'm the only one that eats them anyway.

We rested for a couple of hours and talked and watched football while the kids played. I have a big house but with my 3 and her 4, it was noisy! My poor little Cameron was sicker than a dog all day though and we only got juice and some fruit snacks down him all day.

We started looking through the ads for the sales tomorrow and realized that both Shopko and Kmart were open today! So off we went and got a bunch of stuff already. Plus both stores had their early bird sale stuff out, but not at the special prices so we could preview what we want to get tomorrow. DH hasn't had the Friday after Thanksgiving off for 4 years and I'm so excited to go with him. Plus Becky (SIL) will be going with us too. Her oldest daughter (17) will come here and babysit our kids, while her oldest son (19) will stay with her little ones. The first sale starts at 5 this year so I'm heading to bed soon.

My folks called from Las Vegas where they had lunch on their way to California and Jon got to talk to his mom as well as another sister so that was nice. All in all it was a very good day!

The best part is that we cleaned as we went along and my hosue is almost as clean as it was before we started.

And I've forgotten things for special dinners, too, including the stuffing, but never the olives...they are Glenn's favourite!

Have fun shopping! I am off to mail out the 2nd last bit of my postal stuff for this year. I still have cards to do today and have the parcels for Jake and Jesse to get done and sent out.

You'll have to tell us what you bought! All I am looking for after Christmas is a LeapPad system for Sam and Sarah to share for their birthdays after christmas.

Jo

We bought a Leap Pad 2 years ago and it is still an endless toy, both my 3 year old and my 7 year old play with it.
We love the music book among a ton of others.
The kids will love it.

[> Glad I was in charge of the Cheese Balls ! -- Heather, 20:14:07 11/29/03 Sat

I had little responsibility this year, I guess cause I would have to use my Moms kitchen. It was a big huge dinner, but it just didn't taste good at all. I wasn't even full after the dinner. This is our first Holiday season with out our little Noah and it is SO very hard. I walked in to our bedroom yest. am and my husband was crying. He was so very sad. Me too but I do tend to lock myself in the bathroom to cry.

Dont worry about the stuffing, all of that food I cannot imagin making everything and trying to get it all done at the same time.
