because of Jon's wacko schedule, we can never do anything permanent. That should mean that we try work around his schedule, but unfortunately it means it just doesn't get done at all. I don't remember the last time we read scriptures as a family and I don't even know where mine are. :-(

I read my Ensign and Friend cover to cover and am starting to use the Friend for reading stories at bedtime, killing 2 birds with one stone. The older 2 have scriptures of their own.

One of the so many things I need to work on. Last week at RS I felt so guilty because one woman stood and talked about how they read for 30 min each morning and her kids are about the same age as mine. Now they are living in the basement of another members house so they don't have a lot of work to do in the house and I believe her DH's job is very flexible. If we did it in the AM. we'd have to have it at 4:30AM.when Jon is on day shifts or 6:30 am when he comes home from night shifts(while keeping him awake LOL) I'm afraid it will be like many other things that end up on my shoulders and I just can't do anymore right now!!!

Good luck!
L.

DH reads his every morning before work, around 6:45 am, and there is usually at least one or two children up helping him, sitting on his lap and marking where he left off. But that’s as far as it gets in our house. My oldest is ADHD and trying to add something else into her schedule is just not something I'm ready to do yet. We still struggle just making to school in the morning or to bed at night at a reasonable hour and DH is not around to help me at all in the mornings, except for Tue one of his days off, and I'm lucky it he makes it home in time for prayers at night. I know it needs to be put on my to-do list but it's just not a priority right now.

I have heard of some families doing it during meal time. Since they were all sitting at the table together anyway someone just had to read instead of chew :) I guess I could to that too but DH would still only be there once or twice a week.

Oh well,
Mary
