In hers she had name shapes (they aren't expected to know all of them), count to 10, recognize some letters, recognize colors, basic rhyming and I think copy an X, square, circle. They also do an eye test and a hearing test.

I think it would be pretty tough to not pass into Kindergarten. I'm sure she was being truthful if she said he was smart, from all you've posted about Zac, he does sound like a very smart boy.
