It sounds like a very emotional time for you. I hope you made it through the fire stronger, like a piece of well-forged iron.

I hear what you're saying, in that kids never get over divorce. But sometimes, even with the trauma, they're better off in the long run. DH's parents separated when he was 5, and he had some MAJOR issues around his dad. When we were first married, he would still cry sometimes when he talked about it. But I know that had he grown up with his dad in the house, he would not be the person he is. His dad is not the sort of person I'd want anywhere near my child!
