Subject: Jon's Graduating from Kindergarten. . .(m)

Ok, first I want to thank Chris's Mom (Laura) for e-mailing me to let me know where you all ran off too. I'm so glad to have found you.

Well, I mostly lurk, and post now and then, but it's always nice to check in on you ladies and to know you are there if I need to talk. This I have to share.

My DS (Jon) has been moved up since he started pre-school. When he first strated 1 1/2 yrs. ago (used to go to grandmas) they said he was advanced and would only keep him in pre-school till he adjusted. Then they moved him up to pre-K (early last year). This year he started in pre-K, but in January they decided he was still advanced and bored, so they moved him up to the Kindergarten class. I asked if there was the chance he'd graduate with that class, but the director said no. We had originally planned to change schools next year anyhow. We wanted him to go to a private school closer to our home when he was old enough for kindergarten. Well, I learned on Friday that the director and teacher believe he can do what the other kids can and don't see any reason why he shouldn't graduate with them. If he were going to a public school next year he'd be set. However, I know private schools have a different curriculum and I'll just let him stay in K next year there, unless they choose to move him up.

Anyhow, it's just so soon. I mean, I can't believe my baby is graduating from Kindergarten. We am so very proud of him. He so has earned it. I almost cried Friday when it actually hit me that my baby is growing so. Well, thanks for letting me share this. Oh, his graduation ceremony will be June 4. I'm so happy for him, and so very proud.
