Subject: 11.5 years and no real issues

I bought my X new in April 2000. Other than a brain fart that resulted in having a new engine installed almost a year to the day later, my X has had no real issues in the 11.5 years I've owned it.

Just last month I replaced a halfshaft when the boot came up torn open, but the way I abuse my truck off-road that's not unexpected and I'm surprised I haven't been through more.

I had a distributor go out on me back in 2008 or so. I had a spare, so after the dealer confirmed it I told 'em to leave it in the lot and I swapped my spare in right there myself and drove it back home.

Had a throttle position sensor go out in 2006. I had 2 spares, but they were in MD and it happened in TN, so I had to eat that.

Had a low-pressure A/C hose leak on me, that was an $80 part that I swapped myself.

Had the HVAC blower resistor go out earlier this year. Fairly common issue and a $15 part I swapped myself.

That's all I can think of other than routine maintenance and off-road-induced breakage. I know my lower control arm bushings and ball joints are in rough shape, I have a spare set I'll get around to having a Nissan Tech friend install before long, and I need to replace a rear shock. Not bad for the way I've abused it over the years.
