Subject: Yo Steve, got any inside info for 2013 and beyond?

Guy on another forum has some contacts with some folks at Smyrna who say that the X will carry over into 2013 but production is shifting to Canton...

"The Xterra Gen 2 will continue to be built at the Canton plant (Moves AUG).. They will be stamping in Smyrna and building in MS.. till 2013

The latest Nissan Engineer I talked to said Nissan is up in arms about what to do with the Xterra.. They like that they are seeing more and more clubs popping up.. (nXm and goneMOAB)

Its the MPG game that makes it tricky.. They do understand the design is getting old too. From what I was told they do check in on these clubs to see the latest trends..

We all know at the nXm Nissan engineers were taking pix of mod'ed Xterras like crazy.. I know they took some Mod'ed Frontiers,Titans, and Xterras to a local off road park testing things too."

That's what I have so far. It would be unlikely to spend the $ to move production and tool a new plant unless something was going to be continued at least.

An interest in building an off road ready machine, stealing Jeep market share, etc....is promising as well.
