Just a warning to all travelers considering the Cook Islands. My husband and I have been to many islands in the SP and only in the Cooks have we encountered problems such as repeat fraudulent charges to our credit cards by merchants, turning up on our statements months later, and excessive and sudden rate changes and terms inflicted by guesthouse landlords where we were staying, one incident where they threatened we would 'not leave the island' unless we paid what ended up being 3 times the amount of the original agreement. Buyer beware.
