Subject: Horse Problems

Victory Gallop: While you are riding through a field on Blue Eyed Story, you suddenly get thrown to the ground. As you look up you see your stud holding his left foreleg up. He stepped in a gopher hole, and may have broken his pasturn. Get the vet out to your barn to get him checked on.

I took an x-ray of his leg and it seems that he has fractured his pasturn. Theres not much I can do except tell you no riding or showing with him and keep him of that leg as much as possible. I'll check on him later.

Snowtiger: Your Dalmation puppy, Ritz, as gotten hit by a car. Get him to the vet fast...

Well, Ritz is ok. He has broken his front right leg. I have set it. He has quite a few scrapes on him. He also got a piece of metal in his eye. I'll give you ointment to put in it to make sure that it will heal right. I'll check on him later.

Heavenly Cuddly: Rainy Day Parade is having a hard time chewing his feed. After having checked his teeth you find that his teeth have sharp edges that make it painfull for him to chew. You'll have to get the vet to float his teeth (level them off) so he can chew normally again.

I just floated his teeth, he should be fine now. They are now nice and straight and clean! :)

Star: Your horse Frostbite was out in his paddock when it started to downpour. He got soaked, and caught a cold. He's got a fever, and you can tell he feels miserable. Call the vet and see if there is anything she can do.

Theres not much I can do for him. Um keep him wrapped in blankets untill he breaks his fever. Keep him inside and out of the rain. Make sure he stays on feed, if not make some bran mash for him.

Roping Man: Because you have not updated your barn, and I gave HL a bad one ment for you the last time, you will get a double dose to make up for it. #1- Your horse Dusty Dan got his mane and tail chewed off by his stable mates. Looks like you'll have to find a way to fix it before you show him again. #2- Your new filly by Hazel 'n Cream out of Autumn has a growth problem. Her legs are starting to look crooked. It may be due to lack of nutrients, or too fast of a growth rate. Either way, you'll have to have the vet put her legs in splints to brace her legs so they will grow straight. Take it easy with her when it comes time for her training....or she won't be worth much except as a broodmare.

Heres a special shampoo to help the growth of Dusty's mane and tail. Wash them every week. And watch out for the other horses. I'd watch and see who the nibbler is. As for the filly I have set her legs. She seems a little on comfortable so try and take it easy on her. I'll be back later to see how she doing.

Mari: Your foal by Childish Ways out of Windshined has stopped nursing. He has green goo coming from his nose, he has lost weight, and feels cold to the touch even thought your barn's at 75 degree F. I'd call the vet. With the right care he will have a chance.

Um the foal seems too sick for me. I took some blood samples and I will bring them home and have them checked out immediately. Please seperate him from the others though. I don't want whatever this is to get to your other horses. His tempature has gone up and I'm worried. Please check his temp every hour to see how its doing. I'll get back with the results of the blood tests.

Gilliane: Your mare, Fresh Light, has gotten stung by a bee. She must be allergic to them, because the place where she got stung is all swollen. You need to have someone help you calm her down andhelp you get her to the vet

I gave her and anelgelesic. She should be fine. But I found a bees nest in the pasture. You might want to get some one to remove it from there so this ownt happen again.
