Welcome to the Welsh pub!
The pool team hates the darts team.
The quiz team despises them both.
The lager drinkers goad the beerdrinkers
Who both think that wine drinkers are effeminate.
The English speakers suspect the Welsh speakers of plotting against them.
Whilst the Cymraeg campaign for a bilingual Karaoke machine.
Old regulars shake their heads and despair, of the underage youths who gawp at screens and slag off the world.
Meanwhile the brewery are planning, a re-vamp,a re-brand and a re-launch,
whilst in the snug, pseudo communists dream of forming a cooperative and running the pub themselves.
Everyone in the pub is also in the club, which is fissured by cliques.
We sit around in huddled groups whispering and pointing fingers.
Sniggering and chewing the fat.
The decor is dated, dust lies thick on the mock oak beams, glossy woodchip peels in the gents.
And this is how it's always been, and this is how it is, and this is how we like it.
And we hate with a passion, the pub across the road.
