Club matches with intensity

neutrino posted @ 10:31:16 18/11/02

What is a game played with intensity.
Is it a Zurich match?
Would these matches improve our players?

Well I think the Celtic league matches are intensive matches for our players.
How many did Welsh clubs win this year?

We'd get beaten by more points in the Zurich. Does that mean they are more intensive.

Come on this intensity thing is another excuse, mun.

bollocks Neutrino. The CL may almost be as intensive as the ZP games, but you are missing the point as to why Anglo Welsh games would be better than the CL. Certainly, ZP games are more physical

Entirely agree. Complaints about a lack of intensity caused by a sub-standard league set-up would be all well and good if Welsh clubs were beating Irish and Scottish opposition at a canter. If we then took confident, winning players into the international arena and got thumped, we could complain about the structure.

Welsh clubs have won about a quarter of matches against Irish and Scottish opposition this season, so I'd suggest it shows that we can't cope with the intensity of the Celtic League.

It will be interesting to look back on this season and consider how many of the minimum 13 cross-border matches were won by Welsh clubs.

Sure, the structure we have doesn't help us, and I do believe we have to reduce the number of teams we have, but it's not all to do with our absence from the ZP.

Oi Phill you don't have to start with an expletive or was that a good morning type of thing.

Anyway If we were capableof winning Celtic league matches then a switch to Zurich might be an idea.
Until then.....
