悉尼法官短缺 辦離婚要等超過兩年

由于法官短缺﹐悉尼家庭法庭的一件離婚案要等上2年多才能結案。該法庭的主法官表示﹐情況可能還繼續惡化。

據家庭法專家､在Barkus Edwards Doolan執業的律師巴庫斯（John Barkus）介紹﹐兩年前﹐一件案子在家庭法庭的處理時間大約是15至18個月﹐現在則要2年﹐而總體上看﹐家庭法庭過去90%的辯護案的結案時間約為 11個月﹐而到今年6月底則變成了26.9個月。
巴庫斯認為實際問題是法官人手不夠﹐他說如果能增加人手的話﹐這一問題是應該可以緩解的。

另一方面﹐家庭法庭的主法官布賴恩特（Diana Bryant）解釋說﹐盡管現在法庭正想方設法解決問題﹐但是如果進一步的人力資源配備得不到落實﹐那麼情況可能會還要糟﹐最後給當事雙方所帶來的是更持久的等待及更多的法庭費用。
