Subject: How to get into Criminology

Well i see there are alot of questions on this site about becoming a Criminal Profiler.
I realy do not know if the most majority of you are from Europe but the way i have done it is that if your realy interested (and i dont mean you watched a couple of these TV Shows and thought cool i wanna be like those people.) I studied through what is called the Open University because at the time i was working alot. So far my goal is to become a Forensic Pathologist but before anything i studied Criminology which involved learning about Social Sciences, Psychology and on the side i read a few books on Victimology. The reason i did this before starting my new role in the Forenisc goal was because i wanted an understanding in the mind of us human beings.Plus Forensics is a scientific knowledge to question that of civil and criminal law. My mother used to work in Paddigton green police station when she was younger and it was all the crazy stories that brought me more to my studies. Now Forensics is very much more difficulty then people think because you must have a good degree of knowlage in Basic Chemistry, DNA and Genetics. Also read up on books about Human Genetics, drugs and their effects and read also a good book called FATHER OF FORENSICS by Colin Evans. After my A levels in England i moved to Switzerland and studied throught the open university and its been quite a while to get to where i am now.
My tips are go through things one step at a time.
Read loads of stuff regarding these two subjects. If you want to do Forensics get as good as you can in the Chemistry area. For Criminology understand Psychology. There are also some good book on that subject too like Social Intelligence by Daniel Goleman or The Lucifer Effect by Zimbardo.
Anyway i hope this has helped in some way.
