Subject: (.absolution is the key, and my guiding light.)--everyone/all--returning

Time drains on into the midst of eternity. Her only evidence of existence simply rots in the demented memories of yesteryear. The moments of love and war become untouchable as they slowly glide like mythical beings into the past of which we continuously look back upon. Her whispers of the future caress the soft breezes that brush along those of the present, leaving them in a curious state of what the next second would bring, the next minute, the next hour, the next day. Hell, some of them probably dream of what shall become of this planet in the next week, month, and year. And then the time will increase to five years, ten years, and soon enough, like the slow amblings of a box turtle, we will come to wonder what shall happen when a century has passed. Time is such a beautiful thing in all her splendid glory and light. But when the shadows of death and deceit slowly begin to curl their wretched fingers around our beloved time of good, we soon realize in that very moment, that we should have paid more attention to the last butterfly we saw flutter by in joy. Or the last rose that came to bloom. And as darkness comes with a sickening demise, we wish that we had paid more attention to the last sunset we witnessed. Only when darkness falls, do we realize the wonderfulness of it all.

So in our times of shadow and guilt, we sit and think of the life that we once had in the light. Better yet, we sit and think of the life that we want, and at the very thought we groan at the idea of all that work that would have to be done to get us to that point. Laziness. It is a virus that has no cure. And it spreads like an unmerciful infection, flooding the mind, body and soul, and depriving each of the diligence it once had. Now we lay in a helpless heap of basically nothing, and cry. We lay there and wonder why time had to be so cruel, why it had to go by so fast. And then it all ends up back at us. Why did we not take the opportunity to get what we wanted when the light still danced in merriment upon our hides, and time was still on our side? Ah, the endless labrynth we call a mind, and the many dead ends we call thoughts. Will it ever stop?

The light retired from the sky, slowly crawling behind the distant horizon like a tired old man, retreating to his bed after a hard days work in the field. She moved slowly despite the pressure the Night Gods heaved upon her. And finally when darkness did fall, there was only the ever watchful eye of Nox to spy upon her little figurines of beings. The stars that night blotted the sky in confusing patterns to the ignorant. They scintillated with a sudden brilliance as the nightingale began her resplendent tune. And with her song of beauty came the steady thuds of hoof beats that seemed to reverberate through the unusually silent forest that bordered the isle. And through the swarthiness a mere silhouette was visible to the eyes of the observant. He stood, the epitome of equanimity, asphyxiated in the darkness of his home. Depthless chasms of infinite wisdom and ghoulish experience cast their cynical stare across his home as he simply stood in the solitude of his reckless thoughts. Movement was absent from his physique, and to the ignorant, one might think that he was a mere statue, with an uncanny aura. He had returned to fully take charge, and to lead his kingdom to absolution.

[> ...Princess in Hiding... -- Elven, 10:07:09 12/05/03 Fri [1]

His entry was witnessed by the grulla fae, her dark eyes glittering wetly in the light of the moon. She made no move to join, nor a sound to alert him to her presence. The regal dame only watched. Something had changed, this much was apparent to the silent observer. Her father seemed more resolute, more passionate. Could the tides of war be changing? A mirthless grin played on her ashen lips, appearing suddenly only to vanish just as quickly. Tresses of opposing hues were tossed out of her vision to fall in tangled locks upon her arched deck. Perhaps this would spell victory for the Lights and signal the inevitablity of the Evils' expulsion. Then again, perhaps not. Only time would tell. From her vantage point, solitary as always, she lowered her head for slumber. Time was all she had.

.ghastly brute gathers muscular pillars into standing position, making no extravagant entrance.being new in these lands, no attempt at engaging conversation with any other is made.occuli survey surroundings, eventually dispelling any possibility of hostility directed towards him.catching the silhouette of the obviously ruling masculine in the corner of a somewhat cold gaze, he turns to peer upon him.against the fact that the regal one did not notice his presence, the muscles in the pale's neck shift as he nods in reverence.perhaps it was time to make his existence aware to the ones who may someday become his comerads.or perhaps he should stand alone under the shadow of monotony...

Wary auds pricked at the sound of another footfall's, spurring the femme to lift her noble head. The pallid brute was like a beacon in the dark of night, his pale hide seemingly absorbing the moon's rays. A soft nicker emitted from her dusky lips, heralding her emergence from the area in which she had been concealed. Lifting her head high, she called to the stranger once more, her tone vaguely commanding. It was not certain whether he was friend or foe at this point and so he would progress no further toward her sire before she herself had determined his persuasion.

.lobes prick upon sound of the femme, small steps taken back.the acknowledgement of his being was not normally taken, therefore the brute was not used to interaction.eventually stepping forth from his shroud of silence, he walks toward the female, interested in what she might have to say.

No expression softened her features as she glanced over him in a silent appraisal, her eyes dark and fathomless. She spoke suddenly, her clear voice shattering the peace that the night brought to the Isle.

.:Can I help you?:. Her succinct speech indicated that he was to do the same--keep it short and get to the point. Aside from her lips, her body didn't move. It was as if she had been cast from marble, a statue placed upon the land by some unseen celestial hand.

.crane retracts slightly, feeling somewhat threatened by the other's tone of voice.his soft occuli showed no emotion as they darted about, doing their own inspection of the one he hadn't yet discovered was as princess.his voice was soft and low; coming from deep within his barrel.

A flash of ire flared in her eyes and was gone, leaving her as impassive as ever. Perhaps if war wasn't in their midst, she would have been amused by his misunderstanding. However, the time for mirth and jesting lay somewhere in the distant future...she hoped.

.:What is your name and affiliation?:. she asked, deciding that clarification was definitely in order. Noting the other's withdrawal, she inwardly wished she didn't have to sound so cold and unfeeling; but until his identity was revealed, she couldn't soften that impenetratable shield she surrounded herself with.

IT ATE MY POST!!! *prepares to kill voy before thinking better of it* well then, let's try to remember what we wrote, shall we? *smooths clothing and gets to work*

An invisible eyebrow arched skyward as he uttered his name. That dubbance was one she wouldn't be trying out anytime soon. Sandman. Ah, much better.

.:I am Elven:. Her name was all that was offered, nothing more was necessary in her opinion. A name stood for who you were literally, undecorated by the various titles and accomplishments one fancied themselves having. And so that's all she gave--a simple answer, simplicity oftentimes being the best course of action.

.:What is your purpose here? Are you aligned with Shazaam or Adrian?:. The way in which the Evil King's name was spat out clearly indicated that he wasn't the favorite in the grulla fae's book and he definitely wouldn't be the best choice for the pallid stallion at this point. Glittering eyes remained fixed on his gaze, never wavering and never relenting.

(ooc-I know what you mean...)

.solemn stare is put forth as the question is pondered for what seems like hours.mug points downward, deep in thought.the words flow easily from his mouth with austere ease.

"I know not where I am right now, but I fight for what's right...with my heart, soul, and life. As for my purpose...quite frankly, I have none. Not one that I would care to share at this time. My appologies, m'lady."

.muscular figure stands once again tense, awaiting a reply from the regal femme.

Again that invisible arching of the brow. Quite enigmatic this one was in all respects but mysteries could not be afforded at this time.

.:And what to you, is right?:. she pressed, the intensity of her speech initiating a step forward. Her raven banner followed her movement, whisking gently against her flanks when she halted once more.

.:The invasion of a peaceful land for no apparent reason?:. Her speech had grown impassioned, lacking the monotonous delivery that had characterized it before.

.:Attacking innocents to further your own cause? Reassure me good sir that these are not any intentions of yours:. This information was crucial to her and she would not let him off without determining how much of a threat he was to her people. As for his purpose, she couldn't fault him for lack of one. After all, what was hers?

.pistons at last shift to mimic and meet the forward motion of the other.he was reserved.that is, until his adherence was questioned.ardently, words poured freely from ashen lips.he was neither angry nor spiteful, simply wished to be given credit for his devotion to the Light cause.if only she knew...

"'Right' is defending that land. Those who inhabit it: the young, sick, and weak. I have no intent on sounding rude, but what you just said insulted me greatly. All I can give you as reassurance is my word, which is what you will have to live with."

.muscles twitching greatly from the sudden outburst, he bows slightly, raspy breath forced from deep within.

"I'm sorry..."

Every muscle seemed to relax in the mare's body as his retort was given, the tension that had sustained her rigid stance melting from her form like an ice floe in a warming sea.

.:Forgive me for insulting you but I had to be sure:. she replied evenly, her head tilting once more.

.:Have no worry for being adamant, I feel the same about defending this land and though I may not seem to be, I am just as passionate:. A self-deprecating smile appeared to adorn her ashen lips, yes she knew she often appeared to be the ice queen. But then again, such was her nature.

.:Please believe me when I say it is a pleasure to meet you Sandman, excuse my earlier abruptness:. Her smile grew warmer and more genuine. After all, allies to the Lights were greatly appreciated in this time of need. Tresses of opposing hues were tossed from her visage as she awaited his reply, the femmora hoping she hadn't put him off with her brusque manner.

.normal rhythmatic heartbeat returns along with an equilibrial state of mentality.he normally wasn't near so vocal on expressing his emotions as he had just been.sweat trickled off ghastly pale hide as he bowed once more out of the felt need to appologize for his outbreak.

.the cold of night caused his sweaty pelt to shiver.they say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and upon looking through the window of this mare, he saw something...something that justified her own outburst.she had some kind of hard past, something she delt with through the same kind of silence that he used to mask his own.

.a radiant beam of moonlight struck down upon the two, and he saw for the first time how beatiful she was.

She retained the silence, her gaze as always never wavering from his own. He was more than likely unaware that she saw in him a chance to redeem herself. Having always been a recluse, she was a princess with no real connection with those she sought to protect. She was unknown and unseen, a wraith that rarely appeared to haunt their memories. Perhaps with this stallion, she could begin the long road to becoming what she was born to be--a champion for those she claimed as brethren. Her intentions were set within her mind, but there was no clear way of going about them. Years of being alone had hardly honed her conversational skills and so silence remained a blanket about them, unbroken by the mare. Frustration rose within her before being smashed down once more, Elven was not one to tolerate senseless emotions, even within herself.

.:I gather that you are relatively new here, why have you chosen Paradise Isle?:. she asked almost hesitantly, realizing that this was a rather boring way to begin a conversation but also accepting that she had nothing else to offer.

.reconciliation...what a concept.because of a single mishap, be it intentionally or some thing beyond our control, we are judged for our entire life.perhaps for some, redemption is a possibility, but as for him, he was set to face any punishment that may be delt for his actions.

.unaware, indeed.he hadn't the most abstract of a thought of the mare's intent and had no wish of his own to ask about it.of course, he could not tell her the truth about his entrance to these lands, though he could not lie.it was against his morals.

"With the utmost respect, m'lady, I feel that I can't nor should answer that right now. Perhaps another time. So about you...why are you here?"

Perhaps everything wasn't peachy keen in Neverneverland after all. The uncertainty behind his presence here bothered the mare, becoming a niggling worm that tickled the back of her mind. But what could she do about it? Staying close was the only option. Feathered hooves carried her closer to the stallion, heavy ebonite thumping hollowly on the packed earth. She halted half a body's length away, her head high and her neck arched.

.:I was born here:. she replied simply, refusing to elaborate any further. Her royal heritage was not something she flaunted, nor cared to share with anyone. Why would they care? She wasn't in the running for the crown and more than likely never would be so to her people, she was just like every one of them. Ah, now to continue onward with the pleasantries. What to say...what to say.

.:Where is your birthplace?:. she asked lamely, silently cursing herself for her ineptitude.

.there was nothing else he could do.it was time to invite the inevitable.though his past was hard to dicuss, perhaps it was time to dicuss it.failure to do so could result only in doubt from others.
"I come from a land that was once peaceful. It was a utopia, and there was no evil...until one day. My half-brother murdered our father, the King. I fought and killed him, having witnessed it. The death of my father was pinned on me. I ran as far away as I could...ending up here..."

Confusion reigned on her fine features, her eyes narrowing speculatively. As far as histories went, his was pretty vague. Once again, she couldn't fault him. She wasn't exactly the most forthcoming creature either.

.:I'm sorry for your loss--that of your father and your homeland. I hope that our lands can provide some semblance of a replacement:. Genuine sympathy softened the obsidian depths of her eyes. She didn't yet know the pain of losing a family member and she hoped that she wouldn't any time soon.

.:It's hard to imagine a utopia, I didn't think it possible such a place existed. One without evil...it seems unlikely if impossible. My doubt seems proven with the actions of your half-brother:. If only a Utopia existed, perhaps then her people wouldn't be dealing with Adrian and his horde of moronic puppets, each intent on proving just how evil he or she actually was.

[> [> .do not curse the darkness, when you can light a candle. -- Shazaam, 00:41:42 12/07/03 Sun [1]

The night was unwavering in it's pulchritude. And as the moon's sporadic shafts of luscious light shone down upon the Isle, he peeled from his reclusive spot within the tenebrous shrouds. Yet his movement failed to continue as his bland stare snagged upon the silhouette of his daughter. His first child, Elven. So unique as she chose solitude, much like he found himself doing these days. And her beauty was eternal; paranormal it seemed. Noticing the other of whom she conversed with, he easily decided to make his way over. Too long had he been kept from his family. Too long had he been held from his children. He drew up beside her with a grotesque eloquence that blighted the normal. Plush capped mandibel was extended as cervix was twisted, pressing gently into her cheek. Brims moved slightly against her as whuffles accented his silent greeting.

"Elven. It brings me happiness to see you."

.:Father:. The appellation was whispered on a breath as the mare pressed her own muzzle against her sire. It was apparent at that moment that her father was one of the very few who could melt the ice surrounding her true persona. A rare grin decorated her lips, transforming her features into an exquisite mask of equine beauty.

.:No less than what you bring me Father, it is good to see you well:. she replied quickly, sincerity ringing in her honeyed tones. She cared not that Sandman looked on, she wouldn't dampen her enthusiasm for another's comfort or for propriety's sake.

.crane dips in a quick nod of reverance toward the one he had been watching.upon watching the affection shown between the two, it all started to come together.they were royalty of some sort.a wave of discomfort swept over him.not because of the love between the two, but because of the regalness of the other male.his presence was needed here no longer.turning quietly, he leaves the two to their discussion.
