Serene dark brown eyes stared steadily at the buckskin before replying evenly.

"I'm not afraid of the dark."

He turned his visage to the fillies-in-training.

"Ladies, I hate to send you away but it is for your own safety. I need all of you to join DOL in Midnight Grove. She will watch out for you until this is over."

A deep breath was sucked in through paper-thin nares, preparing for his commands.

"Everyone else! All pregnant mares and all foals are to go into hiding, either at Hopeful Hideout or somewhere else. I do not want to see those particular individuals fighting. Leave at once, I will send 'round a messenger when the battles have subsided. All others who are ready to fight should congregate here. As some of you might know, Frozen Lake has been taken over. Tori is trying to round up all Lights there and redirect them here. We will move as soon as everyone is ready and make Frozen Lake the stand-off point. There should be enough of us to overwhelm the enemy, or at least even the odds a little. When we move in, pick a target and battle. If you see a fellow Light being swamped by too many evils, jump in and help him or her out. We all need to be watching out for one another."

He paused briefly, letting his words sink in.

"Any questions?"
