ooc: happy birthday!!

It seemed that the war had spilled into the Isle after all. Tradition held no meaning and honor was a thing of the past. With a heavy heart and a measured pace, the grulla approached. Her locks of opposing hues swirled about her arched neck almost as if performing a parody of the forces now battling before them. Her seemingly apathetic gaze locked on her grandmother as the golden dame entered battle once again. How many times had she defended her lands and her people against those bent on rending apart the peace and tranquility that marked the Light territories? The answer was too many. The princess might have seemed calm to those who noted her approach but on the inside her soul writhed in fear and anxiety. Her grandmother was locked in battle and there was nothing she could do to help her. Then, with an iron grip, Elven's reason took over. DOL was a seasoned fighter, a Queen not unaccustomed to defending what was hers. The battle might be hard-fought, but in the end, it would be hard-won. Such was the confidence the dame held in her sire's dam. And so she stood quietly, awaiting action from the others gathered around the battle while the former Queen fought for the lands she had held dear for so long.

The former Queen's predicted divergence left Adrian able to do nothing but land back on all four hooves. Immediately, watching the creamy palomino's subtle weight transfer, the auburn decided to skitter to the side. The evasion part was easy for the stallion. His unnaturally light frame and sure-footed movements aided the thoroughbred with a passively defensive skill, the skill of avoiding. However, the rebel realized his obvious mistake too late. He cursed at himself and tactfully attempted to right the problem. The bay had not allowed himself the adequate time to fully reach the outskirts of Daughter of Light's second attack. Instead, his position was in place to receive the violent brunt of her incoming hooves. The Leader should have moved towards her, not away. It was a three-year-old stallion's mistake being committed by a six-year-old. He barely had time to look in the mare's direction before her weight fell upon his open shoulder. Visably pained, Adrian reacted on instinct. He threw his front side away from the female, pivoting himself entirely so that his hindquarters faced in her direction. Now, frustrated beyond comparison, the milk chocolate hued horse hurriedly shifted his weight from hind to fore. Then he struck out, back hooves guiding themselves swiftly in the direction of DOL's chest and shoulder. His ears pinned themselves back firmly, and he clenched his teeth together as his shoulder throbbed. It only fueled the stallion's attack. So far, the two had uttered nothing to eachother, yet, under the circumstances, it did not seem strange.

(Happy birthday, Ashley! :) And I must say, you are a fair person, for Adrian possesses no powers at all. :D)
