Since he was the one who had put Dog Soldiers on his death bed and Daughter of Time giving him a week by healing instead of an hour, and since that was an evil not in battle, he figured the evil wouldn't want the king since he was in battle, he figured it would be for Dog Soldiers. He just stood a far off, just watching.*
