-Having wanderd all over the Light section of CM after having chased Goldie off he went to the Open Meadow to find peace but found only sorrow and lonesomeness. Having wandered the short distance from shore to the isle he looks about. It was pretty here. Just like she had been. Snorting softly nares flare and ebon' whip and banner fall at perfect percision over his muscled pelt. He was seeking friendship, he was seeking peace. Something he hadn't had in a while-

Brow furrowed, she lifted her slender muzzle to the air and inhaled deeply. Brown eyes widened suddenly in realization as a shrill whinny erupted from her lips. Her tail, it's platinum tips kissed by charcoal, lifted stiffly to form a sweeping banner as she lunged into a graceful trot. Delicately pointed ears pricked in the direction she had scented the stallion from. Her neck arched in remembrance of the steed, too long had he been absent from her company. Finally her eyes fell upon his blazing hide as a dazzling smile captured her lips. "Night!" she called gleefully halting in a picturesque pose.

She didn't understand how he could have missed her and all of her mixed signals but she was surprised to discover that she was glad that he had. "I was just about to round Misty up to go look for you," she replied after he revealed his whereabouts. She had heard the caution in his voice and mentally kicked herself for making him like that around her.

What could she say to that?! Her heart begged her to tell him how much she had missed him but her head governed against it. She seemed to have this awful habit of reeling him in only to throw him back to the sea. "Your absence was definitely noted by us both," she said finally, settling for a neutral approach. But he looked so handsome standing there in front of her and she had missed him so much....

Her head lifted to gain her a better vantage point as her eyes swept the peaceful paradise. The serenity of the place soothed her troubled thoughts. She had to fight the urge to turn and look at him, because if she did she might tell him the truth. She had to be sure that her heart was steadfast before she opened those floodgates. "A somewhat suitable replacement for Windy Glen, don't you think?" she asked lamely, unsure of what to say and not trusting her traitorous tongue at this point. Eyes downcast, she waited for his response.

Flames of passion licked eagerly at her soul causing her to return his affectionate touch with reckless abandon. She seemed more than half-wild with passion-fueled energy as her muzzle nuzzled, prodded, and nudged every available inch of his face and neck. Her conscience screamed unheard as the roaring of her own heated blood filled her ears and drowned out her senses. His compliment added fuel to her frenzy, gasoline thrown on an already raging wildfire. To hell with consequences and doubts, she was through second-guessing herself. She out of control and lost in the midst of unbridled emotion and lust, would she ever hold the reins again?

Basking in the glory of his attention, she wasn't aware of her surroundings in the slightest. Yet something nibbled at the back of her mind, an annoying pestering little presence. Groaning, she tried to push it away and sink once more into this pleasure that was Night's touch. But the presence was persistent and nibbles became huge bites that devoured her serenity and diminished her euphoria. Snickering evilly, the presence reared its ugly head and shrieked, ARE YOU READY TO GIVE YOURSELF TO HIM FULLY? Horrified, the mare rejected the question only to have it stab at her mind once more. Was she? Was she really? What if Quinault did come back? Who would she choose? Anguish rose in her heart. She had done it again.... Slowly but surely she drew away from her handsome paramour to gaze steadily in his eyes. "I don't know if we should do this..." she whispered, fearing what reaction he might have to her insane withdrawal.

-He was enjoying her touch so much it took him a spare second to notice her withdrawing. Snorting lightly in confusion he looked to her. But as her words came they sliced like a two edge sword, meaing it wasn't only him that would be hurt by it in the end. He blinked once, twice, and finally a third before words were found. Now to get them out for her to hear- 'But Golden Fire....I thought. I was sure that....' -Nothing was working, his mind was in tormoil, nearly as much as her soul. Anger and self-loathing rose within her to stab viciously at her heart. How dare she do this to him again?! Why couldn't she let ghosts stay buried? Tears forming, she stepped toward him, words fluttering through her mind like panicked birds. "I'm sorry...it's just..." She was grasping at smoke as whatever she had been trying to say drifted away from her. His reply bit into her heart, it's steely barbs tearing pieces away that could never be retrieved. Why can't I love you? she thought helplessly, her soul crying out to rejoin him as she was but moments before. A thought struck her--didn't she love him? Why else would she feel such torment from hurting him? Why else would she need him so much and want to be with him so desperately? Confusion clouded her eyes as she took another step until she was close enough to feel the heat given by his powerful body. "Night..." she said shakily, looking to him for some confirmation of what she suspected she was feeling.

His expression was too much to bear causing her to fling herself at him. Tears began to seep from her eyes but these were not tears of sorrow, they were tears of healing. Her face pressed against his neck as if she never wanted to lose contact with him again. His scent permeated her nostrils, familiar and soothing. "I love you," she whispered against his satin pelt, the words inserted between soft sobs. At admitting this, something inside of her died. It was the fear of having to choose if Quinault ever came back. She know knew that he wasn't, she could finally come to terms with that. Even if he did, he'd find a changed Goldie from the one he left behind. One that had risen from the ashes of her old romance like the phoenix of legends to soar into a new one, one that was perhaps better than before. Pulling away, she looked into his eyes, her face stained with tears but finally imbued with a sense of peace. "I love you," she repeated more firmly, her entire being rejoicing as she left herself open to love again.
