And to him, she truly hadn't. Keeping the picture of her ever in his mind, through the darkest of his hours,and now placing it next to the original, it was the same. Or she was better. "I missed you. So much, I thought-" His voice snaps for a second and he shakes his mane to clear it, the long lanks of hair lifting to reveal even more scars. "I thought about you all the time." He says simply, taking the final step and pressing his muzzle to her mane. Worry, for the moment, washes away. This had been in his dreams so often he was afraid that was what it WAS, a cruel re-hashment of a dream. But the sun dancing through her eyes tells him different. Even so, he pulls away quickly, as though scalded. "I understand if you...want me to leave. I just wanted to tell you, and see you."

The slender mare jerks back suddenly, her bright blue eyes turned dark. "Dare Devil," she says with odd harshness, "I have changed. I've changed, but perhaps you haven't."

Her voice softens considerably as she gazes pensively into his eyes, her own reflecting some measure of hidden hurt. As he moves away, she shakes her head softly. "Don't be ridiculous, Dare Devil," she says affectionately. "It would take a lot more than a year or two of absence to make me stop loving you. Have some faith in us. If you still love me, I will be with you always." She does not move to touch him again; it's his turn to make the choice. Be independant. Just because you need him with every ounce of your soul... doesn't mean you have to show it.
